john-paul_langbroekJohn-Paul Langbroek is the Leader of the Opposition, Shadow Minister for the Arts and the Leader of the Liberal National Party in Queensland.

John-Paul was born in the Netherlands in 1961 only a few months before his family migrated to Queensland. As the son of a school teacher, he spent his childhood travelling throughout regional Queensland before settling in Brisbane.

After graduating from Sunnybank High, John-Paul went on to study dentistry at the University of Queensland.

As a small businessman and health practitioner, it was a strong sense of civic duty which led John-Paul into politics, being elected the State Member for Surfers Paradise in 2004.

John-Paul has held numerous shadow ministerial portfolios including Health, Education and the Arts, Police and Corrective Services, Public Works and Housing, Employment and Training, Natural Resources, Mines and Energy. He has been a strong advocate in Parliament for improving the standard of Queensland’s state government.

John-Paul and his family have lived on the Gold Coast for more than 20 years. He is married to Stacey, with whom he has three children.
