Police Minister in running for ‘spinmeister’ award
POLICE Minister Neil Roberts was again in strong running for Labor’s annual spinmeister award with his latest missive on police numbers.
LNP Shadow Minister for Police, Corrective Services and Emergency Services John-Paul Langbroek said the only true figure that mattered was ‘actual’ police numbers, frontline officers, on the ground.
“No one believes the spin from Neil Roberts and his ‘approved’ numbers – what’s that mean, approved for when – next, the year after, or the year after that?
“Neil Roberts needs to come clean and admit that the actual figures for police numbers, that is, frontline officers on the ground, are down for many districts on last year.”
Mr Langbroek said the only people trying to mislead Queenslanders were Neil Roberts and his tired, 20-year Labor government.
“Queenslanders have had enough of the incompetent Ministers in the Bligh government.
They’ve had enough of the spin and counter claims – Queenslanders simply want an end to the years of Labor’s waste and a return to commonsense government with a real focus on frontline services.
“The LNP will revitalise frontline services.”
