Western Queensland takes in the major mining city of Mount Isa and the historic centres of Longreach, Barcaldine, Charleville and Birdsville. The red dust is cattle country and home to the resource-rich North-West Minerals Province. Interestingly, Western Queensland has some of the best preserved Dinosaur bones in the world.
